Hi folks,
I'm in Vaughan (north Toronto) and working to port my Playbook Webworks app to BB10.
We don't have a "BB10 center" like in UK where devs can come in to get help. Although I am 99% there with Ripple and BB10 on VMWare, I need help debugging on an actual device (which I don't have).
BEGGING ANYONE FROM RIM or even local BB10 developers:
Is it possible to set up an "unofficial" gathering somewhere in northern Toronto where a bunch of developers can meet with a couple of official RIM developers (experts in both Native or Webworks) and a few BB10 alpha devices to help us finalize and crank out those apps?
PLEASE!
Main snags with my port so far:
- not sure if font-sizing correct and dialog scroll-bars sometimes show up because Chrome/Ripple not accurate
- BB10 simulator very slow on my computer, not sure if it works as fast or slow and need to change timings on my app
- cannot test swipedown from top bezel feature where I have menus (like on my Playbook app)
- want to confirm UI is correct scale to make it easy to press buttons and so on
- I have a "no sleep" function on my app where is stays on when in foreground (using a workaround playing a video file loop) and want to know if this is still needed, or if webwork apps continue to run in the background and update or pause
So as you can see... just a few snags that I could work out in a few hours in a room with some help from RIM and an alpha device to actually test on. Then I can tweak my settings.
