Uninstalled the latest update and BB Hub now works correctly drafting emails.

Wondered if anyone else had experienced this??

Key2 US version vs International version

Hello all,

A little about me: I don't use a cell phone as an entertainment device. I use it for phone calls, texts, emails, and a very limited number of apps. The app I use most often is the SiriusXM app while driving in a company vehicle every day. I don't play games on phones, and I don't watch videos, movies, or TV shows on phones.

I used to be a Blackberry user until AT&T discontinued service for the model I was using several years ago. I've been using a Samsung Galaxy S5 for the past several years, and I still can't type on the stupid touch screen. The Blackberry Key2 has my attention, and I think I'm ready to buy one.

I generally understand the differences between the Key2 and the Key2 LE, but I'm a little confused beyond that.

I am seeing what appears to be good deals on the Key2 from a couple of different sources. The prices are in the range of what everybody is asking for the Key2 LE. However, the phone I am seeing is an international version of the phone, model BBF100-6.

What are the drawbacks to buying the international version of the phone, if any? I would be using the phone only in the US.

I've been toying with the idea of moving my service from AT&T to T-Mobile, so I need for any device I buy to work well with either. I've been reading some stuff about the bands the various carriers use, and that the international versions of the phones may lack some of the bands. Would this be an issue for me?

And finally, does anybody have any experience (good or bad) with gotalkusa.com? They come up as a source for phones on the Blackberry Mobile website.

Thanks in advance!

At&t super suxs !!!!!!! - part 2

To update ...... Several months after the 2016 flood and total system outage by At&t ........ Our AT&T account was hacked. I figured out it had been hacked while logged in online, called AT&T to report. After chatting with reps online and getting transfered to 3-4 different reps on phone ...... They shut our account down and our 3 lines/phones. And..... Would not speak to me any further ...... Their fraud dept simply turned of everything associated with our accounts. (Would have been nice if they would have shut the hackers out of the account instead of the customer :)) Spent 2 or more hours in AT&T store that Friday evening trying to get new accounts set up etc.

About 5 weeks later as soon as all billings were resolved we shut down AT&T and went to T-Mobile. Stayed with Tmobile over a year and service was OK but had signal problems where we live.

In January we moved to Verizon. Great signal finally!!! Should have done this sooner!!

I'm sure AT&T still SUX!! But doesn't bother me a bit.

My friend has a year old Iphone and she downloaded BBM Enterprise app but it tells her she does not have permission to use BBMe. She deleted BBM, entered her BBID, purchased a subscription yet it won't work. If she uninstalls BBMe and reinstalls it and tries to purchase a subscription again it says she already has one. She is in the states and I am in Canada. We really need this to work. We are stumped. Any ideas?

Broken screen. Okay to buy a new Passport?

Yesterday was the first time I dropped my Passport face down on the pavement. It still works, but the spider cracks on the screen are significant. I've seen durability tests on YouTube where the Passport survived 25-foot drops and even got run over by a car, so I'm disappointed that mine got all these cracks after merely falling out of my pocket while standing up.

I really love this phone, but do you guys think I should buy a bran new Passport? If I do find one new and unopened, do you think the battery will still be good after being shrink wrapped for over 5 years?

BlackBerry users are weirdos?

Most of my friends bash me for using a BlackBerry in 2019. One person said that only weirdos use BlackBerry in 2019 and that Blackberry phones are not made anymore.

What's your opinion guys? Will BlackBerry phones stop being produced soon? And are we weirdos?

Transferring of contacts (BBM Consumer) to BBM Enterprise

I subscribed to BBM Enterprise today, and after it's installation, I came across an option of signing into the app using the existing BBM details (Emtek); assumed all my contacts/groups on BBM (Consumer) will transferred to BBM Enterprise automatically, and so I signed in using the existing details. Much to my surprise, none of the contacts/groups show up on BBM enterprise.

Any suggestions on how to transfer the contacts/groups to BBMe, cause I'd hate to have them added manually.

Does the Key2 actually support USB-C audio output? Unsuccessfully tried a USB-C→3.5 converter...

Just wondering if anyone is successfully using a USB-C → 3.5 converter on the Key2?
The regular headphone-out on my device is starting to die so I'd like to switch to USB-C audio.

Unfortunately I cannot seem to get a converter to work (tried the one that came with my OnePlus device), and before I buy a standalone USB-C headset I'd like to be sure that the Key2 actually at least supports them.

I've found a few mentions of people trying the USB-C port for audio, but most of them were kind of vague.

BBMe Ping/Priority msg in Silent mode APP

Hello dear folks.
On old BBM, on OS10, there was GREAT feature that would make phone Vibrate when receiving ping(now called Priority message), EVEN while phone is Silent mode.
That feature was unique for BB smartphones on OS10.
I missed this feature on Android devices, so I made small app called BBMe Tweaks which gives this feature to BBMe users again! So far it works on key2, key1, rest BB devices and most huawei and samsung.
If anyone is interested, I will give it for free, just for the support and love of BBMe users.
You can find me via PIN for BBMe

Key 2 LE users - does anyone else have a problem with the phone being muted during a call? I have checked the light sensor and done a factory reset with no luck. Have changed my handset to another Key 2 LE and have the same problem.

Now have to use Key 2 LE in speaker or Bluetooth headset. Any thoughts or (even better.) fixes?

Hey, I don't know if you guys have been doing the same thing but ever since Blackberry hub came to Android, I always wanted to know if there were any similar android apps.
I finally came across one last month and it's become my daily hub app.

NOFT https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...m.manager.noft

If anyone has any other alternatives, let me know, I'd be interested in trying them out.
As for NOFT, I really recommend, it's much simpler than Blackberry hub and that's a good thing. It does a great job compiling notifications in a way that doesn't feel strenuous like Hub/Inbox does.

BBM is currently included in any new BlackBerry device's app suite. Does anyone know if that app will be replaced by BBMe on devices sold after May 31 or will it simply be deleted from future product and not replaced?

[REVIEW] Anker Soundcore Icon Speaker

$

What is the meaning of the word “icon?” Well, it’s actually a pretty important word, which seems very fitting in its selection as a product name. According to the dictionary, “icon”, means a person or thing regarded as a representative symbol.” In this case, I’m talking about the Anker Icon speaker, and how it represents the quality and awesomeness that we have come to expect from their products; it’s iconic in how it sets the standard for excellence in audio. Anker has gone the extra mile with this speaker, setting the bar high for additional products that may follow, and competition to emulate. So… let’s talk about the Anker Soundcore Icon.

1.JPG

Presentation: The Soundcore Icon is a unique looking speaker. The packaging is the same-ole blue and white Anker box, which is fine. However, when you take the speaker out of the box you will begin to appreciate the amount of ergonomic design that has gone into this product. The upper handle is a loop, which allows for hanging and ease-of-carry; it plays music out of both sides of the product, having bi-lateral speakers that really pack a punch. Finally, the control buttons are on top of the speaker, centerline and easy to access. Of course, all of this is sealed in the ultimate waterproof package for speakers – IP67 dust/water resistance, capable of being fully immersed in water 3ft deep for up to half an hour… while it’s still playing music. It even floats!

3.jpg

Performance: The sound experience in the Soundcore Icon is fantastic. Compared to anything I’ve tested out in like-products with similar spec sheets or features, the Icon excels in every area, including price comparison. Anker has been making fantastic products for a while now, and I’m happy that their audio products are finally getting some of the attention they deserve. They have been very instrumental in raising the question “why am I spending so much money for other companies’ products?” This is important for change and competition because it makes people genuinely look at value versus price, which is just as important as ever. The sound spectrum is full, loud, and powerful, which is a welcomed change from a speaker that only cost $59.99. The bass is deep and has the ability to thump, depending on the type of music you listen to. It carries well and doesn’t drown out the mids and highs, which is nice. Additionally, vocals come through clear and strong, even as you slide the volume upwards. For the best experience, I highly recommend using a music player with a built in tuner/equalizer, so you can maximize the sound experience for your listening preference and styles of music. Highs are solid and aren’t overly piercing, and certainly aren’t tinny. Even at high volume ranges, the sound experience doesn’t distort. You can comfortably listen to this speaker in pretty much any environment, but you also have the ability to really crank it up if you want to jam out! I was highly impressed with the Icon. It’s a solid speaker with a comprehensive sound experience that really doesn’t have to compromise in any particular area to give you a full and enjoyable listening experience – and it plays music for up to 12 hours! Putting things in perspective, it isn’t quite on the same level as $100+ speakers, but if you’re looking for a great option that will surely make your happy and provides a solid listening experience, then I highly recommend it. The combination of sound, portability, ergonomics and complete waterproof protection really seal the deal on this one.

4.jpg

Ease-of-Use: The Soundcore icon is incredibly easy to use. The battery cover hides a clever 3.5mm line-in jack, which allows you to plug in anything you want for a sound source. Additionally, the Icon is recharged be the included MicroUSB cable – I’m guessing this is a cost savings measure, since it doesn’t really need USB-C to recharge. The buttons are straightforward and simple, located on top, or spine of the speaker – depending on how you orient the speaker. The traditional on/off button is present, along with the volume up/volume down, multifunction button, and the pairing button. When you fire up the speaker, all you have to do is briefly press the Bluetooth pairing button and you’ll be in paring mode, which can easily be connected to any Android or Apple device. Additionally, if you have two Soundcore Icon speakers, you can connect them together for a stereo sound experience. I was unable to test this, but if it works anything like the Soundcore Flare speakers, it should be fantastic. Last but not least, the speaker has a built-in microphone; in case you want to answer have a conversation over the speakerphone, versus grabbing your phone to talk.

5.jpg
6.jpg

Conclusion: Overall, the Soundcore Icon speaker is quite iconic! It really sets the bar high in the under $60 department. It offers crisp, clear sound and volume that really packs a punch. It’s convenient and easy to carry around or hang off of something so you can listen to your tunes while you do pretty much anything – even if you’re floating around the pool. The strap even comes unhooked on one side so you can fasten it to a backpack or other object while you enjoy the great outdoors! I give this speaker two thumbs up, and I think it’s definitely worth taking a look at, especially if you want a speaker that can be used in any environment, or pretty much any activity you can think of.
